The Super8000 Film Festival offers you an exclusive chance to see 39 films by young, European filmmakers from 18 different countries. The films have been chosen by a jury, on the basis of their level of uniqueness, curiosity and innovation. Three films have extraordinarily been chosen to receive this year’s The Rethink Award, as they in particular are examples of films that have found their unique artistic language. The three award winners will be announced at the Super8000 Film Festival.

Title: Valparaiso (20:00)
Director: Carlo Sironi
Synopsis: Rocio is pent in an immigration detention center in Rome and she got pregnant during her reclusion. She doesn’t want to tell how it happened nor who did that. She prefers to remain silent. Law does not permit to hold a pregnant woman, so Rocio gets released with a temporary residency permit at her fourth month of pregnancy. Now she is free, but she has to carry on with an unwanted pregnancy.

Synopsis: Esther is a pregnant woman living in a modern metropolis. She develops psychosomatic symptoms but she does not know why. She wants to name her baby Odette, the principal character of The Swan Lake, swan during the day, human at night.

Synopsis: Haru returns home in denial after a tsunami, where he must learn to deal with his loss through an encounter with a magical sea Spirit.

Synopsis: Lammert has no mischief, but he becomes the victim of the stifling effect of a community, which already has chosen his scapegoat.
Title: Rainbow Girls (19:00)

Synopsis: Bloome, Kara and Mynte are the colourful outsiders in an otherwise monochrome ninth grade.Bloome is determined to win the annual lip sync battle, and the respect of the class. But when her friends begin to change, Bloome’s plan starts to crumble. But in the end – friendship comes in many colours.
