Super8006

The Super8000 Film Festival offers you an exclusive chance to see 39 films by young, European filmmakers from 18 different countries. The films have been chosen by a jury, on the basis of their level of uniqueness, curiosity and innovation. Three films have extraordinarily been chosen to receive this year’s The Rethink Award, as they in particular are examples of films that have found their unique artistic language. The three award winners will be announced at the Super8000 Film Festival.

Film 1

Title: A night in Tokoriki (18:00)
Director: Roxana Stroe
Country: Romania
Year: 2016
Synopsis: In an improvised night club called “Tokoriki” the whole village celebrates Gianina’s 18th birthday. Her boyfriend and Alin will give her a most surprising gift, one that nobody will ever forget.

 

Film 2

Title: When We meet again (19:32)
Director: William Sehested Høeg
Country: Denmark
Year: 2017
Synopsis: Mads has been traveling across Europe for three months with his two childhood friends, Simon and Sara. To celebrate his safe return, Mads’ family has organised a welcome home lunch – but the meal is interrupted by a call from Sara’s father claiming Sara was raped on the last night of the trip. This throws Mads into the biggest dilemma of his life.

 

Film 3

Title: Less than human (6:09)

Country: Denmark
Year: 2016
Synopsis: In the aftermath of a zombie outbreak, the zombies have been cured and exiled to secluded camps. A prejudice journalist decides to prove that they are not fit to be rehabilitated.


Film 4  

Title: My beautiful corpse (18:15)

Year: 2016
Synopsis: The time of a dream, Léo, young lover in mourning, finds, Léa, his dear deceased. Together, they think of love, death, at twilight, in a winter forest. My beautiful corpse is a free adaptation of the play Léonce and Léna by Georg Buchner.

 

Film 5  

Title: Semele (13:05)
Director: Myrsini Aristidou
Country: Cyprus
Year: 2015
Synopsis: Semele will do anything to spend some time with her long absent father. A school note becomes just the excuse for her to visit him at his workplace, where her presence highlights their fragile relationship.
